Youth murdered in Tanda

A youth was murdered at Munak Khurad village near Tanda in Hoshiarpur district last night. The deceased was identified as Lovepreet Singh.

On the statement of Lovepreet’s father, the police registered a case of murder against Pritam Singh, his daughter-in-law Rajdeep Kaur, Harjaap Singh, Sonu, Harman, Didar Singh and three unidentified persons.

Lovepreet allegedly had an affair with Rajdeep. They had recently eloped but later returned home following the intervention of the village panchayat.

The victim’s father told the police that the accused kidnapped Lovepreet and took him to their house, where they beat him up, leading to his death.
