NEW DELHI:PWD Minister Satyendar Jain today directed all city agencies and departments responsible for cleaning and desilting drains to ensure prevention of waterlogging on roads during the monsoon.

New Delhi, July 10

PWD Minister Satyendar Jain today directed all city agencies and departments responsible for cleaning and desilting drains to ensure prevention of waterlogging on roads during the monsoon.

Jain directed that public complaints should be addressed on priority and call centres kept functional at all times. The directions came during a meeting, attended by the officials of the PWD, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Cantonment Board, Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation, three municipal corporations and the NDMC.

The PWD informed agencies concerned that the department has already setup a fully-functional unified control room (with a toll free number 1800-11-0093) which will function 24 hours to deal with complaints related to waterlogging.

“The PWD will refer these complaints to agencies and departments concerned and they are to be redressed on a priority basis. Waterlogging complaints can also be e-mailed at [email protected],” read a statement issued by the government. — TNS
