New Delhi, July 7

Amid the tussle over transfer and postings of officers, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal suggested the Centre and the LG should go to the Supreme Court to clear any "confusion" over its July 4 verdict.

The Centre and the LG are interpreting the top court's judgment in a "queer" manner, he told reporters.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal reiterated the Services Department is under the city government. The LG and the Ministry of Home Affairs are misinterpreting the Supreme Court judgment.

He stated this while his visit to an unauthorised colony where he inspected the development work in the Kirari Assembly area.

In Kirari the Chief Minister listened to problems of common man and gave his decision on the spot.

People live in hellish conditions in unauthorised colonies. To give them dignity and better life, funds will be sanctioned for roads and drains in next 15 days for all unauthorised colonies in Delhi. Work will start on a war footing and daily progress will be monitored, Kejriwal said.

In a tweet the Chief Minister said, “Developmental works in the capital would be "sped up" and he would personally inspect them. Am going today for spot inspection of works in a few colonies (sic)."

The Chief Minister was accompanied by the local MLA, Rituraj Jha, and officials of the DSIIDC. The DSIIDC is the agency executing the work in the area.

He visited Braj Vihar Colony and Karan Vihar Part III in the area and took stock of the roads and drains being constructed in these areas.

At the first spot, Braj Vihar, he met the locals who complained of the shoddy work being carried out.

They told the Chief Minister that the material being used, especially the bricks, were sub-standard and the work has been stalled for more than two months now. After hearing the complaints, he ordered the bricks to be sent for quality test.

The Chief Minister warned the officials over the complaints of shoddy work and said that it was a warning and they would be placed under suspension if it was repeated.
