New Delhi, May 13
A 140 kWp solar photovoltaic plant, inaugurated today by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Milan Vihar Co-Operative Society, IP Extension area, here will generate 1,71,696 units in a year and society will earn generation based incentive of Rs 3,43,392 per year.
The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Management Centre, Department of Power, Government of NCT of Delhi, had empanelled vendors for installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic plants on buildings under residential/social/institutional sectors at competitive rates.
Through this scheme group housing societies having large potential for solar energy can get benefit of Central Finance Scheme (subsidy) from Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, and generation based incentive of rupees per unit solar power generated from the Government of Delhi.
In line with this the plant at Milan Vihar Group Housing Society goes to make the capital a solar power sufficient city. — TNS
