New Delhi, March 23
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today honoured 250 children under the scheme of Punjabi Bhasha Samman for promotion of the language.
The DSGMC honoured the students of Class VIII, X and XII of 22 schools who secured 90 per cent marks in the Punjabi language. Punjabi language teachers and school principals have also been honoured.
Distributing the certificates, the DSGMC president, Manjit Singh (GK) said it seemed that aims of opening panthak schools of community elders had been achieved after having seen the number students in Punjabi classes.
He said the Punjabi Vikas Committee of the DSGMC should suggest the community people to speak Punjabi in and outside houses.
