AAP MLA Somnath Bharti wrote to State Election Commissioner SK Srivastava today alleging "inaction" by polling officials and the police over complaints of "irregularities and malpractices" in polling on April 23 by the principal opposition BJP.

In a letter to the SEC, Bharti alleged "attempts of booth rigging" were made by the BJP at Humayunpur polling station and "life-threat" to people by the Congress at Hauz Rani polling station where people wanted to vote for the AAP.

At another polling station, Gargi School, people with valid voter cards had to return as their names were missing from the voter list whereas in another instance at St. Mary's polling station a BJP candidate's father is said by the AAP to be the polling agent who was found campaigning for his daughter in violation of set norms on the polling day. The AAP MLA said all such instances were duly recorded and submitted to the returning officer yet "no action was taken".
