New Delhi, March 27
Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA from the Bawana Assembly constituency Ved Prakash resigned from the membership of the Delhi Legislative Assembly and other posts held by him under the Delhi government and joined the BJP in the presence of party chief Manoj Tiwari, state in-charge Shyam Jaju, Leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta.
Ved Prakash said there was no internal democracy in the AAP. The MLAs are neither allowed to speak in the meetings of legislature party nor at the party forum. There is a coterie around Arvind Kejriwal which does not allow the voice of the public representatives and the media to reach to the right person and place.
Kejriwal’s egotism is fully responsible for the present condition of Delhi, he said.
Welcoming Ved Prakash to the BJP, Tiwari said not only the people of Delhi are suffering due to the failures of the Kejriwal government, but also there is desperation among many MLAs and leaders of his party. A large number of good social workers had joined the AAP with great hopes between 2012 and 2015. But the AAP and its government is only working for Kejriwal’s political growth due to which development work in the city has come to a standstill and there is frustration among the public representatives.
Shyam Jaju said Kejriwal’s party was born out of the anti-corruption movement, but today it has become a symbol of corruption and this is the reason why he is disconnected not only with the people, but also from most of the public representatives. Many AAP MLAs have raised their voice against the government and after introspection Ved Prakash today resigned to join the BJP.
Vijender Gupta said the entire AAP government is being run by an NGO-brand coterie of persons. MLAs cannot express their views. Ved Prakash was under desperation that was why he resigned and joined the BJP.
