New Delhi, February 19

Two minor girls and their father suffered burns injuries after they were allegedly attacked with acid in west Delhi's Khyala area, police said.

The incident took place around 10.55 pm yesterday when Deepak, along with his two minor daughters, was about to leave home for a wedding reception, police said.

Police have arrested the accused, Ragho Mukhiya.

Deepak and his daughters -- Isha (13) and Bhumi (11) -- were admitted to Sehgal Nursing Home in Paschim Vihar.

Deepak sustained 9-10 per cent burn injuries, while Isha and Bhumi suffered 30-40 and 20 per cent burn injuries, respectively.

Deepak, a resident of Vishnu Garden, told police that when they were getting ready to leave for the wedding, he saw Ragho consuming liquor outside the gate of his house.

Deepak asked Ragho to go away, but instead of leaving, he misbehaved and manhandled the complainant.

On hearing the commotion, neighbours came to the spot, but Ragho fled from there.

After 15 minutes, Ragho came back and threw some chemical on Deepak and his two minor daughters.

The accused was arrested from Khyala village. (With agency inputs)
