BJP to come on street today; Cong meets LG

Condemning the incident that took place with the Chief Secretary, BJP announced to come on the streets demanding the dismissal of all the AAP MLAs including the disqualified ones.

The state BJP president, Manoj Tiwari said the party workers would stage demonstration and burn effigy tomorrow to protest against the present MLAs and ministers including the disqualified MLAs of the AAP. They will also demand dismissal of Kejriwal government.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, met LG Anil Baijal and demanded the "dismissal" of the Kejriwal government over the alleged assault on Chief Secretary at the chief minister's residence.

He alleged "complicit connivance" of CM Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia in the incident.

"The complaint of the chief secretary clearly states that no one tried to save him during the assault. This implies that the CM and the Deputy CM along with the MLAs were equally guilty of connivance in the offence," Gupta said in a statement.

Meanwhile, a delegation of senior leaders of the Congress party today met LG Baijal showing serious concern on the incident that took place with the Chief Secretary.

The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president, Ajay Maken said the AAP MLAs who were involved in the incident, should not be spared and be punished. Kejriwal should apologise for this incident.

He said the LG should ensure the security for administrative officers, so that they were safe and could work without any fear.

The delegation was led by Maken. Others who joined the delegation were former CM Sheila Dikshit, former assembly speakers Subhash Chopra and Dr. Yoganand Shastri, former ministers: Haroon Yusuf, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Dr Narendra Nath, Mangatram Singhal, Ramakant Goswami and Kiran Walia and senior leader Chattar Singh.

Maken said this is an unfortunate incident and now the situation has become dangerous here. If there is administrative paralysis and the administrative officers’ lose their self respect, this is a very dangerous situation for Delhi.

He said no political pressure should be there on the officers, who could work independently and impartially.

Maken said there is complete failure of public distribution system. Tthere were average 30 lakh ration card holders who were getting ration during the Congress regime, but under the three-year AAP rule, this numbering has been reduced to 19 lakh. The 1,700 buses have been removed from DTC fleet and 54 crore passengers trip also reduced, 98,000 students left the government schools and 111 government dispensaries were closed.
