BJP to hold Yamuna Challenge Cricket

NEW DELHI:Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today announced the Yamuna Challenge Cricket Trophy 2017 tournament.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today announced the Yamuna Challenge Cricket Trophy 2017 tournament.

Before giving details of the tournament, Tiwari said that BJP is not only a political party, but is also a medium of social progress. For this purpose, the party is on the one hand initiating campaign like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao and on the other it is organizing social, cultural and sports activities.

“Sports are helpful in building character of the youth and with this objective we organize sports competitions every year”, Delhi BJP president said.

He said that the objective of Prime Minister Narender Modi is to connect the youth of the country with BJP and nation-building and this tournament is a step in that direction. The teams participating in the tournament will also do sanitation work at least for a day.

The BJP president said that last year the party had organized Khel Dilli Khel competition and now it had decided to organize the Cricket Trophy Tournament in which about 280 Mandal Level Teams will participate. A pradesh level committee has been formed for the tournament and at the parliamentary constituency level. All the MPs will head the management committees and district presidents will help them.

Tiwari said that the inaugural match of Yamuna Challenge Cricket Trophy 2017 would be held on November 28 in East Delhi Sports Complex, Tahirpur and the final match would be played on December 25 at Feroz Shah Kotla Grounds.

The winning team will get Rs 5 lakh and the runners-up will get Rs 3 lakh as price money. The 3rd and 4th placed teams will get 60-60 thousand rupees each and the 5th and 6th placed team will get 50-50 thousand each.
