The Delhi Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backwards Classes and Minorities Welfare Minister, Sandeep Kumar, today released a booklet of various government welfare schemes and policies for the uplift of backward classes.

He said the booklet had been released to inform the SC, ST, OBC and Minorities in the capital about the Delhi government policies made to benefit them and to bring them on par with others. The booklet was released at a programme “Jan sunwai shibir” organised by the Delhi Backward Classes Commission at Yamuna Vihar.

Kumar said, “I hope that this booklet would be helpful for the people, especially living in poverty, belonging to the OBC section as the information compiled in the booklet would guide them to live independent and meaningful life. These people can improve their quality of life while taking advantage of government welfare schemes with full information in public domain.”

The minister said today in this public awareness camp several departments – Revenue, Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Disaster Management, Aadhaar Card, Food and Civil Supplies, Social Welfare and East MCD - of the Delhi government are participating with an aim to solve the problems of citizens, including OBCs.
