Seeking urgent steps to fight toxic smog in the city, children from government schools with an NGO, Aarohan, planted 500 saplings in Malviya Nagar today. They came together to promote clean environment and healthy living in the city.

Aarohan chairperson Rani Patel said internationally acclaimed chef Vikas Khanna joined the children in the green effort and distributed his recent book ‘A Tree Named Ganga’ among children.

Khanna lauded the children and the NGO for their effort towards the fight against smog and pollution and said, “Nature teaches us to care for others.”

A message on the need for maintaining healthy environment for human welfare was also shared with the children at the plantation drive, supported by Smile Foundation and partnered with Tropicana, said Patel.

Aarohan imparts holistic education to poor students from government schools highlighting the need to balance the relation between human being and environment – air, water, forest, birds and animals.
