New Delhi, July 22

In a bizarre incident a Class X student delivered a child in a government school washroom. The school staff got stunned as soon as they came to know about the incident. Later the girl was admitted to a government hospital.

However, it was discovered that the girl was being raped by a 51-year-old auto driver, identified as Abdul Ghaffar. According to the police, the accused has been arrested who was living in the neighbourhood of the teenage girl’s family.

Initial inquiries revealed that he had sexually assaulted the girl 4-5 times. And to keep the teenager in his clutches, he used to lure her with money.

The girl initially did not know of her pregnancy. When the stomach started swelling, the accused gave him the anti-pregnancy pills to abort the baby, as soon the girl took the pill she got pre-mature delivery of 26-weeks in the school washroom.

Surprisingly, the family of the child also did not even have an idea of her pregnancy. They felt that the stomach of the teenager is swollen because of any illness or gas.

According to the police, the minor mother and newborn baby are admitted to a government hospital. At present, the condition of both of them is out of danger.

DCP Milind Dumbre of Northwest District said, “The police received the information of the case on July 20 from the hospital. The teenage girl broke out and told that this shameful act was done by an auto-driver living in the neighbourhood. As the accused had escaped from the house as soon as he got the news of the girl giving birth to a child, but yesterday he was nabbed and presented in the court and sent to jail.”
