The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) today has begun the preparation for assembly by-election with a meeting held with senior leaders including former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who had run government in Delhi for 15 consecutive years.

The meeting discussed the issue of rising prices, unemployment, sealing and failure of public distribution system and decided that on March 4, the party activists would organise protest and padyatras, and the effigy of both BJP and AAP would be burnt in 280 blocks of Delhi Congress.

The meeting took place under the leadership of DPCC president, Ajay Maken and was attended by Sheila Dikshit and AICC Delhi in charge, PC Chacko.

The next meeting of former DPCC presidents, former MPs and Delhi ministers, former MLAs and MLA candidates, existing and former municipal corporators and others will be held on February 21 for preparation of the protest.

The prices of essential commodities are touching sky and have gone beyond the reach of poor people, the BJP-led central government has failed to curb the prices of essential commodities.

Both the AAP and BJP governments are equally responsible for the rising prices in Delhi. The Kejriwal government has failed to put an end to the hoarding which is mainly responsible for rising prices in Delhi, Maken said.
