Cong initiates to empower women: Maken

NEW DELHI:Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said it was the Congress party which took a serious initiative to empower women in politics.



New Delhi, January 17

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said it was the Congress party which took a serious initiative to empower women in politics.

He said this while addressing a meeting on demonetisation, organised by NGO Jwala Brigade (Eek Aag) at the Constitution Club here today.

Maken said that women are symbols of power. After the Independence, the Congress took the issue of women empowerment very seriously. When Indira Gandhi had become Prime Minister, the Congress honoured every woman of the country.—TNS
