DDA cancels lease of public school

NEW DELHI:The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has cancelled the lease of Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) Public School, Shreshth Vihar, with immediate effect on violation of the terms and conditions of the land allotment for a senior secondary school.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has cancelled the lease of Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) Public School, Shreshth Vihar, with immediate effect on violation of the terms and conditions of the land allotment for a senior secondary school.

As per the land owning agency, the society has used land meant for play field and constructed school buildings on 4750 sq metres land as compared to the permitted 2180 sq metres of the total 5454 sq metres land it was allotted.

An order for cancellation of lease has been issued to the school principal Prem Lata Garg this evening and the Directorate of Education will be communicated the same with directions to demolish the “unauthorised constructions” in the play field area.

Lt Governor Anil Baijal had approved the cancellation on December 5 following a communication in this regard from the Vice-Chairperson of DDA.

In 2000, the society was allotted a plot by the DDA measuring 5454 sq metres at Shreshth Vihar. The ratio of land regularised included 2180 sq metres for building portion and 3270 for play field.
