DPCC seeks action against leaders for anti-party activities

NEW DELHI:Disciplinary Committee of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) today sought action against two local leaders of the party – former municipal councillor Surendra Prakash Sharma and block president Ashok Sharma for alleged anti-party activities.

Disciplinary Committee of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) today sought action against two local leaders of the party – former municipal councillor Surendra Prakash Sharma and block president Ashok Sharma for alleged anti-party activities.

Chairman of the committee Dr Narendra Nath said the Krishna Nagar District Congress Committee, after a meeting, had recommended that disciplinary action should be taken against Prakash Sharma and Ashok Sharma for their anti-party activities.

The meeting was attended by district president Sunil Vohra, All-India Congress Committee secretary and former MLA Naseeb Singh, former Leader of the Opposition in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation Varyam Kaur and the office-bearers of the district Congress committee.

After investigating the case on the basis of the complaint submitted by the district committee, Disciplinary Committee chairman has decided to expel former councillor and block president from the primary membership of the party for six years for anti-party activities.
