Drug abuse: Cops to spread awareness

NEW DELHI:On International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking tomorrow, Delhi Police planned to organise a number of programmes in order to create awareness about the misuse of drugs and to sensitize youth in the areas prone to drug abuse, said DCP Madhur Verma.

On International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking tomorrow, Delhi Police planned to organise a number of programmes in order to create awareness about the misuse of drugs and to sensitize youth in the areas prone to drug abuse, said DCP Madhur Verma.

On the occasion, Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik said, "Life is to enjoy and shine, Not to drug and despair. Delhi Police reaffirms its resolve to fight sale and abuse of drugs. Let’s shun it. We sure can! "

In the process, a Nukkad Natak was held in East Delhi to spread awareness about drug abuse. A cycle rally was also organised in Sikligar Colony.

In other parts of the city, posters were distributed to create awareness.

The narcotic and crime prevention cell which functions under the Crime Branch of Delhi Police organised an anti-drug awareness programme
