DU student molested by bank worker

NEW DELHI:A student of Daulat Ram, an all-girl college of Delhi University, was molested by an employee of the Indian Overseas Bank located inside the college when she went to make some transaction.

A student of Daulat Ram, an all-girl college of Delhi University, was molested by an employee of the Indian Overseas Bank located inside the college when she went to make some transaction.

The Maurice Nagar Police has registered an FIR in the matter and the accused arrested. The ABVP activitists reached the college and later reached the station and ensured that the FIR was registered.

A senior Delhi Police officer said, “We are investigating the matter and the victim has been undergoing counselling so that she is under no pressure to record her statement.”

According to National Media convenor Saket Bhugana, who reached the police station and the college, “Earlier the college was trying to hush up the matter, but the students protested and the college had to ask police to investigate the matter and register a complaint. The girl was so terrified with the incident that she was in no condition to speak. As a woman councillor met her, she stated that the bank employee molested her and also threatened that if she complained, she would have to face dire consequences.”
