Ensure proper sewage connections for toilets, LG tells civic bodies

NEW DELHI:Lt Governor Anil Baijal today directed the three municipal corporations to ensure proper lighting arrangement in and around all toilets complexes and public parks in the capital.

Lt Governor Anil Baijal today directed the three municipal corporations to ensure proper lighting arrangement in and around all toilets complexes and public parks in the capital.

The civic bodies must see that the sewage connections in toilets are properly maintained, said the LG during a review meeting of sanitation, redevelopment of markets and beautification works undertaken by the municipal bodies.

As regards use of toilets in restaurants (including petrol pumps), it was informed that all toilet facilities have been made available free of charge for women and children. The LG was informed about the steps taken for proper lighting in and around the toilets complexes.

The three municipal commissioners assured the LG that efforts are being made to ensure that all toilets complexes have proper lights. It was desired that weekly progress report will be sent to the Pr. Secretary (Urban Development) in this respect.
