The Aam Aadmi Party government today spelt its “achievements” in the water sector and vowed to provide potable water to every household by this yearend.

Water Minister Kapil Mishra released the Delhi Jal Board’s annual report in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and made a mention of several initiatives like free water up to 20 kilolitres consumption every month, fee waiver and commissioning of water treatment plants. Two new treatment plants were made functional at Dwarka and Bawana.

Refuting the claims of critics, the Water Minister asserted that the subsidy contrary to what critics tell has increased the Delhi Jal Board’s earnings by nearly Rs 178 crore, especially through tackling graft and many innovative schemes.

Sisodia claimed several development works of this sector have been hampered due to political opponents.
