Over 300 scientists and professionals today participated in 17th Indian Science Communication Congress (ISCC-2017) in the national Capital.
The two-day event jointly hosted by the IIMC and CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR) aims to promote science communication.
The two-day event has six scientific sessions on science communication, environment and risk communication, health communication and agriculture communication, with one revolving around exploring strategies for the effective communication of science at the grass-root level.
A book "Disasters-Short Stories, Essays & Anecdotes" was also released at the event which was addressed by Director NISCAIR Dr Manoj Kumar Patairiya, AcSIR Director Dr Rajender Singh Sangwan, chairperson of the Forum on Disaster Mitigation of the Indian National Academy of Engineering Dr RK Bhandari, chairman, NDMA member Kamal Kishore, UNO Kalinga prize winner Narender K Sehgal apart from DG IIMC KG Suresh.
