New Delhi, March 24

Several journalists protested outside the police headquarter in the capital against Delhi Police personnel roughing up a photojournalist of a national daily, Anushree Fadnavis, covering the JNU protest march that aimed to oppose privatisation of education and demand the arrest of the university's professor accused of sexually harassing female students.

The photojournalist was manhandled by lady police officers and her camera was snatched. "Please, at least don't break my camera," a woman's voice is heard in the background of a  video. Reports suggest some other journalists were also manhandled.

National Commission for Women has ordered probe into the alleged matters. As per a senior police official, a vigilance inquiry has been initiated. The report will come out in two days. – TNS
