NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident a bar owner, in his 30s, died after accidentally shooting himself in the head while dancing with a pistol in hand inside his bar here, said a police official today.

In a bizarre incident a bar owner, in his 30s, died after accidentally shooting himself in the head while dancing with a pistol in hand inside his bar here, said a police official today.

The incident occurred last night at the “Onn Lounge and Bar” in Shalimar Bagh, he said. The deceased was identified as Nasir.

An eyewitness said Nasir was partying with three of his friends with a pistol in his hand. He was dancing with the pistol held close to his head when it went off and accidentally shooting himself, the official said.

There was no evidence of any foul play in the CCTV camera footage obtained from the bar, he added.

One shot dead for resisting robbery

A 35-year-old man was shot dead for resisting a robbery by two motorcycle-borne assailants, police official said.

Arun Kumar of Karawal Nagar had returned from Agra and hired an auto-rickshaw near Anand Vihar around 4.40 am today when he was stopped by someone.

The assailants put a gun on his forehead and asked him to hand over his bag. When he refused to part with his bag, he was shot.

“Kumar was shot twice in his abdomen and once in the leg,” the official added.
