MBBS student injured during ragging in AIIMS

NEW DELHI:An MBBS student got seriously injured during a ragging in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday.

An MBBS student got seriously injured during a ragging in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday. One of the students reported the matter to the AIIMS police post.

According to the police, the fight took place among  graduate optometry students. But later they compromised, therefore, no case was registered, according to a police official deputed at the AIIMS police post.

The AIIMS administration taking the incident seriously took strict steps to check the incidents of ragging. In view of this, the security guards have been told to keep strict vigil on the students.

Looking into the matter, the anti-ragging committee at AIIMS held a meeting on Friday, in which the Director, Deputy Director (Administration), Dean, Registrar and some senior officials of the AIIMS were present.

In the meeting, it was decided that the help of security guards should also be taken to stop the ragging incidents. A large number of private security guards are deployed in the institute. Therefore, now they will keep eye on resident doctors, senior and new medical and nursing students.
