The Aam Aadmi party is expected to finish the work of finalising its first list of candidates for the upcoming MCD polls by month-end.

According to Delhi unit convener Dilip Pandey, sanitation will be a big issue and the party is this focusing on the same during this MCD polls when it will contest against the sitting BJP and the Congress on the 272 wards.

The Kejriwal-led is eying for a major win in this polls in the run-up to which it is targeting the BJP over alleged corruption in the civic bodies and over the repeated strikes of sanitation workers.

The AAP maintains that MCDs controlled by the BJP have been rendered hollow and have failed to do their basic duty of keeping the city clean.

More than 10,097 aspirants are likely to contest and of these, 3,522 are from North MCD, 3,673 from South and 2,902 from East MCD.
