Minor thrashed into flesh trade by aunt escapes

New Delhi, March 15

A 16-year-old girl, who was pushed into prostitution by her maternal aunt three-year ago, had a lucky escape. The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) ensured an FIR was registered on her complaint.

The matter came to light when a woman brought the minor survivor to the DCW.

The girl is from Odisha and was brought to the capital by her aunt in 2013.

Her aunt initially sent her for dance classes in Munirka and later kept her as a babysitter in her house. She provided tuitions to her for sometime at her home before they shifted to Safdarjang where she forced the minor girl to have physical relations with a man, said a DCW official. “The aunt regularly sent the minor to different men, up to eight men in a day. This continued for three years. She became pregnant once but her aunt aborted the pregnancy,” said the official.

An FIR under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO was registered, said the official. – TNS
