Three children working in a bangle factory at D-block Jahangirpuri fled away and met a stranger, who helped them reach NGO Prayas for help. The children were in poor health condition when they reached Prayas.

A senior police official said, the children are in the age group of 9-12 years old and were forced to work in the factory for long hours sitting at one place after which to stand up for them became difficult as their legs got cramps. The children have also been detected with anaemia, as per a doctor, and will take time to recover.

One day they jumped from the factory's terrace and fled away. They met a stranger who helped them to call up the NGO, which brought them to ‘Prayas Children's Home’ and informed the police. The NGO admitted the children to a hospital after which they were brought to the Prayas Children Home's clinic and are being treated.

The children are native of Bihar and were given Rs 2000 a month as a salary. But it’s not clear whether the money was paid to them or their family or the tout who brought them from Bihar.

The children have mentioned about four more children working in the factory. When police with the NGO reached the factory, the owner had already closed it and fled away.

The children were brought to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and now SDM Model Town Virender Singh and Jahangirpuri police is investigating the matter and the Bihar Police has been informed so that the children could be reunited with their families.
