New Delhi, June 23
Business owners in East Delhi can now get their trade licences issued online as the area's civic body today launched a facility for the same.
BJP chief Manoj Tiwari inaugurated the East Delhi Municipal Corporation's (EDMC) online facility for issuance of general trade licences and veterinary trade licences.
"The corporation should strive to deliver maximum services online. Online issuing of trade licences would also help reduce the scope for corruption and save time of the applicants," Tiwari said.
People would be able to receive a general trade licence within 10 to 15 minutes after uploading required documents and paying requisite payment online.
East Delhi Mayor Neema Bhagat said while a general trade licence can be obtained in 10-15 minutes, the process for veterinary trade licence would start as early as within 24 hours of uploading the documents.
The EDMC's functioning would be digitised completely in the future and citizens need not run to offices for availing various services. — PTI
