The Southwest Delhi Police have arrested a man from Uttam Nagar with the connection of a murder of a youth.
The accused has been identified as Mustakeem Ahmad, who was a close friend of the victim, Anaytullah, said a police official today.
On Thursday, a PCR call was received at the Uttam Nagar Police Station regarding the murder of a hotel employee at Mulla-Ji-Biryani Centre in JJ Colony Hastal, the official said.
The police found a youth in the pool of blood and took him to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Initial enquiries revealed that Mustakeem, who also worked at the same hotel, was behind this murder, said the official.
Mustakeem was disappeared after the incident and also switched his off. Raids were conducted on all his possible hideouts in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh, but the accused constantly changed his positions to evade the arrest, said the official.
On Friday, information was received that Mustakeem would come to Uttam Nagar to meet someone to take money.
The police laid the trap at the said the spot and arrested him after a long chase as he tried to flee, said the DCP (Southwest District, New Delhi).
The reason behind the murder is uncertain, the official said.
