New Delhi, February 24

The Delhi Police found tampering in the CCTV footage taken from Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to examine the allegation of the assault on Chief Secretary, Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs during a meeting. The footage has been sent to the forensic experts for examination, sources said.

The sources said that some tampering had been done in the CCTV that did not show the exact result of the timing when the incident had taken place. The police took the footage yesterday after a raid that forced the CM to skip a programme held at Jamat-e-Islami campus in Jamia Nagar where the CM had to address a large gathering of Student Islamic Movement activists, a student wing of the Jamat.

Delhi Police had asked the authorities concerned of Delhi government for CCTV footage and other details from the CM’s residence on February 20. When the authorities failed to submit the footage, after informing the CM, the police team led by DCP Harendra Singh reached his residence to seize the footage yesterday.

The police said that the CCTV of Kejriwal’s residence has a time lag of 40 minutes and 42 seconds.

A total of 21 CCTVs are installed at the CM house. Of them, seven are out of order. The room where the assault took place has an electronic door, but no CCTV.
