New Delhi, May 16
Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) president Paramjit Singh Sarna today demanded white paper on working of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and said that General House meeting was bogus.
A day after DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK held the much-touted full-house meeting, Sarna reviewed the deliberations in detail and found them devoid of any meaningful content.
“I can say with utmost responsibility and conviction that the general house was nothing but a show of one upmanship between GK and DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa... It dealt only with a handful of dead issues... Nothing that the DSGMC under GK and Sirsa is accountable for came up for a serious discussion,” Sarna noted.
“When we left the charge of the DSGMC, the balance sheets showed a surplus of Rs 125 crore. Reports that we have now received from extremely credible and seasoned sources paint a disturbing picture... Forget surplus, the balance sheet under GK and his crooked team reflects unimaginable levels of liabilities that the present leadership has accrued and continues to accrue for vested personal and political interests.” — TNS
