Shazia Ilmi gets berth in BJP executive

New Delhi, January 15

The new team of Delhi unit of BJP's executive committee has names, including former Aam Aadmi Party leader Shazia Ilmi and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha head.

Former North Delhi Mayor Ravinder Gupta and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the municipal body, Rajesh Bhatia, have also been given the role of general secretaries while Siddharthan continues to be general secretary of the organisation.

BJP president Manoj Tiwari today declared the composition of the executive committee with the appointment of 35 office-bearers. It is understood that the new team has inducted quite a number people who are known to be close Union Minister Vijay Goel and in-charge of BJP's Delhi affairs Shyam Jaju.

Ilmi and Sehrawat are among the eight who have been appointed as vice-presidents. Ilmi has found her first post in BJP after leaving AAP  while Sehrawat made it to the committee due to her role as chief of Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha.
