The BJP candidate from Rajouri Garden, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, today filed his nomination papers with the Rampura SDM, Amit Kumar. His wife Satwinder Kaur Sirsa filed papers as his covering candidate.
Prior to filing nomination papers an impressive show of strength was organized in the Rajouri Garden area.
Many prominent BJP and SAD leaders, including Member of Parliament Parvesh Verma, Manoj Tiwari, Rajiv Babbar, DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK, former president of DSGMC Avtar Singh Hit, former MP Tarlochan Singh, former Cabinet minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, West Delhi BJP president Ramesh Khanna, senior Akali leaders and BJP senior leaders were also present on the occasion.
Before leaving for the SDM office, Sirsa visited a local gurdwara to take blessing of Guru Granth Sahib.
Addressing the gathering, Sirsa thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah for nominating him to contest this by-election.
He said as the whole country was witnessing the pro-Modi and pro-BJP waive, in this election too people will vote for the BJP which alone is capable of carrying on with the development works in the area.
Sirsa said during the last three years of rule in Delhi the Aam Admi Party has played havoc with the lives of the people of capital. He said not a single promise has been fulfiled by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his team.
He said on the other hand people have seen tremendous performance of the BJP-led NDA government headed by Modi.
Sirsa declared this election too will be an election of positive agenda of the BJP versus negative agenda the AAP.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate Meenakshi Chandila and AAP candidate Harjeet Singh also filed their nominations from the constituency.
