New Delhi, March 27

The Samajwadi Party (SP) today announced to field candidates to contest the Municipal Corporations of Delhi elections on all 272 wards.

Delhi unit president of the party Usha Yadav said she has complete list of strong candidates that will be announced soon. The party has its strong hold on at least 15 wards located in Uttar Pradesh boarder areas.

She said during its government in Uttar Pradesh, former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had allotted land for grave yard to the Muslims in South East Delhi that might play a positive role in the elections.

Addressing a press conference here today, she said the BJP has ruined the national capital during its 10-year rule in the MCDs. Health and sanitation services have collapsed.

The sanitation workers do not get salary in time. They have gone on strike for five times. Garbage has been lying in dhalaos for days, resulting in spreading diseases.

The poor image of BJP councillors among citizens of the capital has forced the party high command to replace them with new candidates.

The Congress party that is in opposition in the Parliament has failed to play its role to work out the difficulties being faced by the citizens of Delhi.

Besides, the Aam Adami Party (AAP) is in power in Delhi that is also responsible for poor water and power supply. It has no interest in development works.

It just fights with the Central government. Quality of mid-day meals is poor in schools, Usha Yadav said.

When asked after losing the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh what is her expectations in the civic polls in Delhi, she said her party might win at least 15 seats out of 272.

Usha Yadav also said the party high command might address public rallies in Delhi.
