Two held for making, supplying spurious drugs

NEW DELHI: Crime Branch has busted a gang making and supplying spurious medicines and arrested two accused Bijender Singh (55) and Ashok Kumar (42), said police.

Crime Branch has busted a gang making and supplying spurious medicines and arrested two accused Bijender Singh (55) and Ashok Kumar (42), said police.

On March 15, police learnt that Singh and Kumar, involved in supply of spurious drugs, would come at the Parcel Yard Gate, Ajmeri Gate here to supply the drugs to someone, police said. Drug Department was informed and assistance in the matter was sought, they said.

Police laid a trap and arrested the accused with  a Maruti Eeco, from which four cartons of drugs were recovered containing 39,300 Pan-D capsules, said joint commissioner of police. From a raid on their manufacturing unit at Balbir Bihar, over one lakh capsules of different brands were recovered, he said. – TNS
