On the mode of citizen charter the court has taken a positive initiative. The court has imposed fine on two Station House Officers (SHOs), because their subordinates had not submitted the investigation report within stipulated time of the road accidents in the court.

Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Dwarka, Judge Jitender Mishra said each work should be done within time limit and impartially, this is the responsibility of the SHO. Therefore, the fine is imposed on the SHOs. If the SHO is exercising strictness, the subordinates cannot be careless.

Therefore, the court imposes fine on Najafgarh SHO Naresh Sangwan and Uttam Nagar SHO of Rs 5,000 each.

The court said in both the police stations separate road accidents had taken place. In these cases reports were to be submitted within one month. But in one case after 10 days and in other after five months even the investigation reports were not submitted. Both the SHOs were given warning as well.

Moreover, these SHOs and investigating officers were cautioned through Police Commissioner’s office. But, this did not affect the officials. The court lastly decided to impose the fine on both the SHOs.

In Uttam Nagar in 2016 a road accident had taken place. In this incident Anand Pal, was injured. In this matter the police were to submit detailed investigation report within a month. But, in spite of repeated instructions the SHO and the investigating officer were been careless.

Whereas, this year in Najafgarh one road accident took place in which the complainant, Rohit, was injured. The court asked the investigating officer and the SHO several times to submit the progress report, but the report was not submitted, and police personnel concerned even did not bother to be present in the court.

The court has finally passed orders to cut the fine from the SHO’s salary.

The court has also imposed fine of Rs 5,000 on sub-inspector of the Najafgarh Police Station.
