The Delhi Police have arrested three persons in connection with extorting money  from a businessman through honeytrap, said a police official.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Dalal (36), Adarsh Kumar (32) and a 22-year-old woman.

A businessman filed a complaint in the Baba Haridas Nagar Police Station in which he stated that he befriended with the woman on phone, said the official.

On August 28, he met the woman at Nangloi Stand, Najafgarh. After sometime the woman insisted him to come to her house but he refused to do so. Suddenly, four persons came there and two of them forcibly seated in his car and one was on the motorcycle. They all forcibly took him to an isolated place and confined him, the official said.

After that, they removed all his clothes and beat him up. They demanded Rs 23 lakh from the businessman in lieu of his life, but he prayed that he could not manage to do so as the amount was very huge, the official added.

Thereafter, they all made a video of him in a compromising position with the woman. They further threatened him dire consequences, if he did not give them Rs 5 lakh in next five days. They said they would upload the video on Facebook and Whatsapp. They took his ATM card, PAN card, a gold ring and Rs 85,000 from him, the official added.

The police roped in to work out this case which laid a trap and nabbed the accused, Sandeep Dalal, from his house in Nangloi. Two other accused, Adarsh Kumar and the woman, were arrested at the instance of Sandeep from Nangloi. A gold ring belonging to the businessman was recovered from the possession of the woman, said the DCP, Pankaj Kumar Singh, (Outer District).

During interrogation the accused said they were involved in several cases of honeytrap and they trapped several persons as per their plan. They made their videos accordingly to extort money from them but victims did not report the incidents as the victims were reputed persons in the society, added the DCP.
