Woman, paramour slit her minor daughter’s throat

A woman and her paramour allegedly slit the throat of her minor daughter after she found out about their affair and threatened to inform her father in Ghazipur, Eeast Delhi, said a police official today.

The police were informed around 10 pm yesterday about a six-and-a-half-year-old girl, a Class I student in a government school, going missing from her house.

After a few hours, the girl's body was found on the terrace of the building where she stayed, the official said.

The residents of the building were questioned and the police became suspicious about the girl's mother. During investigation, it emerged that the girl's mother was allegedly having an extra-marital affair, the official said.

A couple of days ago, the girl had seen her mother with her paramour and had threatened to inform her father about the affair. The woman allegedly hatched a plan with her paramour to kill her daughter, the official said, adding that the accused have been detained.
