New Delhi, September 18

A 37-year-old woman was allegedly forced into a private cab by its driver and two of his friends, and later gangraped by them along with two others on the premises of a closed shop in Peeragarhi area here.

According to police, the woman was allegedly abducted from Sagarpur locality near West Delhi's Paschim Vihar by the driver and his two friends, who were in the cab.

In her complaint, the woman has alleged that the three accused drove around West Delhi for around two hours and later took her to an unknown place where two others joined them and "gangraped" her, the official added.

She was dropped by the group in the wee hours today, after which she reported the matter to the police.

The five accused, including the driver who is associated with a radio cab service company, have been apprehended and the cab has also been impounded.

"The woman in her complaint to the police said that she had left home around 10.30 pm yesterday to fetch coconut water from a nearby market.

“She has alleged that while she was walking towards the nearby market, a taxi came from behind and stopped next to her.

"Before she could understand anything, the two men who were sitting on the rear seat in the cab overpowered her and pulled her inside the car. They threatened to kill her if she screamed for help," a police official said.

The official said that on the basis of the woman's complaint, a case of abduction and gangrape has been registered at the Paschim Vihar police station here and all the five men arrested.—PTI
