Chandigarh: St Mary’s School, Sector 46-B, celebrated Christmas with pomp and show.



Chandigarh: St Mary’s School, Sector 46-B, celebrated Christmas with pomp and show. Chairman Rev Fr John K Jacob lit the lamp to inaugurate the programme. Students of Classes I –IV dressed up as angels presented a beautiful nativity play and amused everyone. It was followed by a dance by students of KG on ‘Jingle Bells’. Inter-house board decoration and carol singing competitions were also held. Melodious carols enthralled the audience.

 

Teachers’ training workshop

 

A three-day teachers’ training workshop was organised by St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School in association with the Lions Club International to impart skills to deal with the changes and challenges of adolescent. Nidhi Nagrath, a renowned trainer from Mumbai, equipped the teachers to cater to the needs of not just the child but also the parents and themselves. Lion SK Rana, region chairperson coordinated the programme.

 

Kids sing carols

 

DAV Public School, Sector 8-C, organised Christmas Day celebrations to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. Students of LKG to Class II, participated with enthusiasm in making X-mas trees, bells, Santa faces and snowmen. They also sang different carols on the occasion.

 

Uniform distributed

 

Panchkula: Lata Aggarwal, president, and Monica, secretary, of the Inner Wheel Club, Panchkula, respectively, along with other members of the club visited Bhavan Chetna Vidyalaya, an evening school for the underprivileged. They distributed winter uniform among students. The uniform included trousers, sweater and a pair of socks. Eatables were also distributed.

 

 

 

School bags award

 

Mohali: St Paul’s International School, Phase VI, Mohali received best participation award for the 26th Nitish Laharry On-the-Spot Painting Competition conducted by the Rotary Club, Mohali. Akanksha of Class V bagged the II prize, Kamaljeet of Class III and Naveta of KG secured the III prize. Winners were felicitated by president of the club Gurvinder Juneja. — TNS
