DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, which for the first time started online admissions, is introducing six new courses from this academic session for students.

The college is introducing four courses that will enhance their skills and provide speedy placements to the students. Out of six courses, the college got the approval for three, and for other courses, the authorities are waiting for the approval from Panjab University and national council for teaching education.

The three courses for which the approval is yet to be received are postgraduate diploma in cosmetology and beauty care, B.Sc, B.Ed integrated and BA, B.Ed integrated.

The college, which is having the strength of 7,600 students and 225 faculty members, is one of the biggest colleges in the north region. More than 75 per cent of the faculty is doctorate in their respective subjects. The college authorities have also applied for the research center for the Physics Department to Panjab University for approval.

The college students excelled in academics, sports and cultural activities. During over 50 years of its existence, the college has produced great administrators, jurists, academicians, artists and sportspersons of international repute.

College principal Dr BC Josan said the aim for this academic session was the holistic development of the students and better placements.
