Degrees conferred on over 500 college students

PATIALA: As many as 537 students were awarded degrees during the annual convocation of Government Mohindra College, Patiala. The event was held at its campus here today.

Patiala, April 25

As many as 537 students were awarded degrees during the annual convocation of Government Mohindra College, Patiala. The event was held at its campus here today.

Patiala Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit graced the occasion as the chief guest and conferred the degrees upon students. The function began with the recitation of shabad to seek the blessings of the almighty.

As many as 293 students graduated from various courses, including BA, BSc, BA Honours School, BCA and BBA, and 244 students were from postgraduate courses.

Among those who received the degrees at the convocation were Jasmanjot Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Aarti, Renu Rani, Lipsee Sohi, Sonia Sharma, Sanju Rani, Sifali Choudhary, Pooja Rani, Himani Sharma, Jyoti, Rupali Gandhi, Gurpreet Kaur, Anmoldeep Kaur, Bharti Dwivedi, Rimpy Rani, Nitya Chawla, Gurvinder Singh, Kamal Singh and Jagjeet Singh. These students had earlier brought laurels to the College by securing top positions in the university.

Kumar Amit inspired the students to excel in their chosen fields to achieve their goals and advised the young graduates to involve themselves in social development and contribute towards the betterment of society.

College principal Dr Sukhbir Singh Thind highlighted the achievements of the college, including the top-level national ranking of the institute by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). He also elaborated the rich traditions and glorious past of the college.

Prof DS Walia, Prof RK Bhanot, Prof Ashok Verma, Prof Jaswinder Singh, Organising Secretary Old Students’ Association Prof SC Sharma, Registrar Examination Prof Harpal Kaur and Prof Navila were among dignitaries present on the occasion.
