Chandigarh: The Library and Women Cell of DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, jointly organised a lecture on stress management. VK Kapoor, IPS (retd) and former Additional Director General of Police, Haryana, was the invited speaker. He focused on the coping strategies to combat stress. According to him, part of dealing with stress was to give importance to the three Fs - Faith, Family and Friends, which can become our support system in the ongoing crisis-ridden scenario.
World Tourism Week
The Dr Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition, a leading institute providing hospitality education under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is celebrating World Tourism Week, in the institute premises. Around 34 students took part in the celebrations by writing on topics Bhartiya Sanskriti and Hindi Bhasha Ka Maan. The institute organised several competitions.
World Tourism Day celebrations
The University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management celebrated World Tourism Day. Various events were held on September 22 and 23 to mark the occasion. On the second day of the celebrations, events such as Chandigarh tourism quiz, group dance, solo dance and dresses of India were organised in which various schools, colleges, institutes and universities participated.
Talent hunt
Patiala: A ‘Talent Hunt – 2015’ competition was organised at the local MM Modi College. While inaugurating the function, Daljit Singh Rana, SP (Patiala City), asked the young students in the age group of 17-25 years to focus on the defined objective under the able guidance of their teachers and work with commitment and dedication in the academic environment. Hardeep Singh Badungar, Traffic in charge of Patiala, appreciated the views expressed by the students in the declamation contest. College principal Dr Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries. — TNS
