Chandigarh, March 30
The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organised a painting competition and training on salad-making for inmates of Snehalaya, Maloya, and Aashiana, Sector 15, here.
As many as 110 students participated in the painting competition that was organised for children of Snehalaya. Renowned artistes of the city; Sadhana, Principal of Government College, Mohali; and Rajeev, Principal of Government College of Arts, Chandigarh; judged the paintings. Three winners were given prizes and all participating children were given certificates by the CCPCR.
Around 50 girls of Aashiana learned the nuances of salad-making from a renowned city-based artiste, Simrit Luthra. Addressing Children, Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR, said: “I am happy to interact with all of you. You all are special in your own ways and have the abilities to make a significant mark in your chosen fields.”
