Chandigarh: Tree plantation programme was organised by students of SGGS Sr Sec School, Sector 35, on the school campus.



Chandigarh: Tree plantation programme was organised by students of SGGS Sr Sec School, Sector 35, on the school campus. School chairman S Bhupinder Singh Bhatia and school manager S Surinder Singh planted saplings of fruits at the Mata Gujari Herbal Garden of the school. School principal Harjit Kaur and Eco Club in-charge Alka Pabbi explained the importance of tree plantation in the environment and role of herbs in the day-today life.

Workshop on basketball

St Joseph's Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 D, conducted a workshop for students on basketball. It was conducted by renowned head coach Kenneth Blake of the US - from 'Assist Basket Ball Network' - a world reputed Basketball Academy. As many as 150 students from Classes 5 to 9, along with their PTI teachers, attended the workshop.

Choi-Kwang-Do Championship

Panchkula: Valley Public School won gold medals in the 13th National Choi-Kwang-Do Championship. Students of Valley Public School, Panchkula, brought laurels to Haryana by bagging four gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal hosted by the Choi-Kwang-Do Association, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. As many as 500 participants from 28 states participated in the event. Haryana stood second in girls category and third in boys category.

Road Safety Week

Saint Soldier's School, Sector 16, Panchkula observed Road Safety Week. This week was observed in order to create awareness among students regarding the road safety and to prevent accidents. Posters and placards on road safety were displayed at the entrance and exit of the school gate.

Street play

Mohali: To spread awareness about cleanliness, students of Ryan International School, Mohali, participated in a street play on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Through the play, students gave the message that small efforts on their part would help them to maintain cleanliness around their houses and in the city. The people appreciated the students and joined them in the pledge for keeping their surroundings free from garbage. — TNS
