Govt sends Rs786-cr road project report to Centre

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has sent a detailed project report to the Centre for its approval to widen three road stretches on NH-444A, at a cost of about Rs 786 crore.

The Haryana Government has sent a detailed project report to the Centre for its approval to widen three road stretches on NH-444A, at a cost of about Rs 786 crore.

These include the stretch between Ambala Railway Station and Industrial Estate, Ambala Cantt; Industrial Estate, Ambala Cantt and Panchkula and Saha junction point to Shahabad.

Health Minister Anil Vij said the road from Ambala Railway Station to Capital Chowk would be six-laned and then elevated upto Tangri bridge. The 6.5 km long stretch will be completed at a cost Rs 364.78 crore.

He said the 8.6 km long road stretch from the Industrial Estate, Ambala Cantt to Saha would be four-laned. Three parallel bridges along with existing major bridges will be constructed on this stretch. A bypass will also be constructed in Saha town at a cost of Rs 159 crore.

He said the 17.5 km long third stretch from Saha junction to Shahabad would be four-laned at a cost Rs 262 crore. Drains, footpaths, bus lay bays, truck lay bays, utility ducts, etc would also be built.
