Chandigarh, October 6

Deputy commissioners (DCs) will now be competent to grant change of land uses (CLUs) for setting up small industrial units in Haryana.

The Khattar government, as part of its new industrial policy, has eased the process for granting CLUs for the industry, which raised a lot of dust during previous Hooda regime. The state government has empowered the DCs to grant CLUs for the setting up of the industrial units on an area up to one acre and for projects costing up to Rs 10 crore.

However, the CLUs for bigger projects would continue to be granted at the level of the Director-General, Town and Country Planning Department (TCPD) following approval of high-level committee.

A notification by the TCPD said now the CLU permissions would be issued in a time-bound manner which, in turn, would accelerate the industrialization process in the state. District Town Planner (DTP) concerned will submit the cases with comments to the concerned circle officer, Senior Town Planner (STP), within seven days. The STP, in turn, will give his comments/ recommendations and send back the application within seven days to the DTP concerned. Then the application along with comments/ recommendations will be placed by the DTP before the District Level Clearance Committee, headed by the DC concerned, for taking decision.

For the bigger projects, the STP concerned would send the CLU applications, to the Director-General of the TCPD within 10 days.
