The courses have been programmed to train students take on various roles in the Hotel as well as Tourism Industry. Promotional initiatives by the government to promote India as a major tourist destination on a global platform have resulted in a surge of tourists from all over the world. A qualified graduate in this field definitely has an edge over normal graduate when it comes to job security, exposure and polished skills. The students have a wide choice from bachelor's, diploma, BSc and even BBA courses in this field. Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) 

is a regular fully residential 4 years long Undergraduate program. the course develop skills that will help graduates thrive in the Hotel as well as Tourism Management sector.

Eligibility: Students who have cleared Class XII from all streams, are eligible to apply for this course. Minimum marks criteria exists in case of many Institutes. It may vary between 45-50% marks, in 12th Board examinations.

Diploma in Hotel Management

This is a  one year course. The students are given theoretical as well as practical knowledge. But a Diploma in Hotel Management will not be as valuable as a Bachelor's Degree though.

Eligibility: Students who have  cleared Class XII from all streams, are eligible to apply for this program. In case of some Institutes, even 10th standard passed students are eligible to pursue this course!

BBA in Hotel Management 

This is a three-year  undergraduate programme that hones management skills tailor made for the hotel industry.

Eligibility: Students who have passed Class XII (any stream) are eligible to pursue this course.

BSc. in Hotel Management and Catering (B.Sc.)

This is a 3 years course. It is 1 shorter than the B.H.M. program, but takes more time than the D.H.M. program to complete

Job opportunities

  • The booming hotel and hospitality industry is the prime recruiter. With new forms of tourism like health tourism, adventure tourism and heritage tourism growing, graduates with a degree in hotel management  will be able to find more jobs.
  • The government also has come up with several exciting plans like the Railway Tourism, State Government tourism plans etc. Graduates will be able to land jobs created by these plans too. 
  • Salary in case of freshers may vary between Rs 2-5 lakh per year.
