A beauty called life

Woke up in the morning with a baggage of thoughts; I get all ideas, creative and the ‘over-thinking’ ones, the best of them, first thing in the morning.

Divya Dutta

Woke up in the morning with a baggage of thoughts; I get all ideas, creative and the ‘over-thinking’ ones, the best of them, first thing in the morning. So, today was no different... thought about how differently I could perform the scene for the shoot, thought why I hadn’t still heard about my dates, thought about how upset I was for a silly remark by someone last night. Yeah sometimes we overcook our thoughts and make a good recipe for anxiety...we find reasons to worry when probably there aren’t many, but to worry is a habit. Worry about people we love, worry about our own well-being, work, situations we are in at that point.

Each day is a new worry as a few older worries sort themselves out automatically with time. And newer worries come by...has a day ever passed in your life when you have not gotten anxious about something? Inconsequential of whether it’s big or small. If it has, then you are among the rare breed of extremely sorted people!

I just wondered...why do we indulge in these small things to sweat over? Life is the biggest teacher. It just keeps moving. It stops for no one. We might be happy, we might be sad; life keeps moving.

I have felt many times that I won’t be able to deal with a certain situation; I have dreaded facing some of my worst fears in life...leaving my family and settling in a new city like Mumbai, fear of no back-ups or support system, for some good roles... fear of change in my comfort zones... fear of losing my own...my biggest fear being losing ma.

But minutes, hours, days, years kept passing as I lived with them...one by one facing all those fears... and time kept passing as I looked back at the few of them I crossed. And it amazed me. Life amazed me. It makes you face your fears and anxieties. It takes away things and people you dread losing. You might be left shattered, but it still cushions you with situations and people to handle yourself well during that crisis. And then you look back bewildered at life!

We normally hear everyone say ‘this too shall pass’. Ya the fears happen to us…then we face them! And then life happens to us. It cushions you with things you can’t handle on your own, but it supports you for sure.

So, I wonder why worry when life has taken charge to handle me anyway! Why not smile through the problems as you are going to face them anyway… and live it up because…zindagi na milegi dobara.
